AC Compressor

AC Compressor

The AC compressor is the heart of your car’s air conditioning system. It pressurizes and circulates refrigerant through the AC components to remove heat from the cabin. The compressor is powered by a belt from the engine and engages when you turn on the AC. If the compressor fails, you’ll usually notice warm air blowing even with the AC on, or hear loud noises when it tries to engage. Repair often involves replacing the unit and flushing the system to prevent future failures.
