Crankshaft

The crankshaft is one of the most important internal parts of an engine. It converts the up-and-down motion of the pistons into the rotational power that drives your car. Located at the bottom of the engine, it spins thousands of times per minute while the engine runs. If it gets damaged—due to lack of oil, bearing wear, or major engine failure—the entire engine may need rebuilding. It’s a heavy-duty part, but when it fails, it’s serious.
