Heater Core

Heater Core

The heater core is a small radiator-like component located behind the dashboard. Hot coolant from the engine flows through it, and a fan blows air across the core to produce heat inside the cabin. If the heater core is clogged or leaking, you may notice a lack of heat, foggy windows, or coolant smell inside the car. Replacement usually involves a labor-intensive process since it's buried deep in the dash.
