Water Pump

Water Pump

The water pump is what keeps coolant moving through the engine and radiator. It's driven by a belt or chain and circulates the coolant to maintain a consistent engine temperature. If the water pump fails, coolant stops flowing and the engine can overheat within minutes. Symptoms of a bad water pump include coolant leaks near the front of the engine, whining noises, or rising engine temperature. It's a critical component and should be replaced promptly if faulty.
