Oil Pump

Oil Pump

The oil pump circulates engine oil under pressure to vital parts like the crankshaft, pistons, and valve train. Without it, the engine would overheat and seize within minutes. If the oil pump fails, the oil pressure warning light will appear, and engine damage can occur quickly. Replacing the oil pump requires removing the oil pan and sometimes other major engine components.
