ABS Control Module

ABS Control Module

The ABS control module is the brain of the antilock braking system. It monitors signals from wheel speed sensors and determines when a wheel is about to lock up. If it senses danger, it commands the hydraulic valves to pulse the brakes, preventing skidding. A malfunctioning module can trigger the ABS warning light on the dashboard and may disable the ABS altogether, though normal braking usually remains. Diagnosis often involves checking for trouble codes, wiring issues, or replacing the control unit itself.
