Brake hoses are flexible rubber or braided lines that connect the hard brake lines to the brake calipers or wheel cylinders. They allow for movement of suspension and steering while still transferring brake fluid. Because they flex constantly, hoses can crack, swell, or develop leaks with age. A damaged hose can reduce braking power or even cause a sudden brake failure, making inspection and replacement critical during brake service.
