Brake Master Cylinder

Brake Master Cylinder

The brake master cylinder is a key part of the hydraulic brake system. When you press the brake pedal, the master cylinder converts that force into hydraulic pressure, sending it through the brake lines to stop the vehicle. It contains small pistons and seals that can wear over time. A failing master cylinder might cause the pedal to sink slowly when held or make the brakes feel inconsistent. It's usually mounted on the firewall and attached to the brake booster.
